Prop Firms

What a profit split actually means before you sign up

By Tradingyan ·

A profit split is the percentage of trading profit you keep once you're funded, the rest goes to the firm. It's the number every prop firm leads with, and it's the number that matters least on its own.

Two firms can advertise an identical 90/10 split and still cost you very differently once you account for the challenge fee, reset fees if you breach a rule, and how often you're actually allowed to withdraw.

Before comparing splits, work out the total cost to get funded including any resets you're likely to need, and the withdrawal frequency and minimum payout.
